Meet the Math Mama

Hello, and welcome to my blog. My name is my Martina and I am a mother, middle school math teacher, preacher’s wife, and lover of alliteration. The goal of this blog is to share my thoughts, opinions, and ideas on the topics of motherhood, teaching, marriage, and relationships with God and more importantly to share my stories and encouragement to those that may face similar situations.

This blog has been in the works in my mind for years. Before I became a teacher, my desire was to be a writer, but when I was a junior in high school I recognized that I might need to consider a more predictable career if I wanted to be able to support my livelihood. Around this time, I felt God speaking to me to become a teacher. That was about 10 years ago, and now, just thinking about that, I feel old!

I am currently in my fourth year of marriage, my fourth year of teaching, and my first year of motherhood. Most days I love all 3, some more than others, but there are always bad days. My hope is that through this blog I can share some of the things I have learned from my experiences and encourage others in the process. Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you will come again soon.
